In January of 2011 I began the long journey of learning how to make movies with a DSLR. The first thing I learned was that you need good rigs to get quality, professional footage. I watched videos on YouTube of people getting amazing cinematic motion with sliders and steadicams. So, I looked into what kind of rigs were available and how expensive they were. I was shocked. $500-$800 for a decent stabilizer?! $400-$1000 for a simple slider?! That almost cost more than my Canon 60D body. And then if you want a shoulder rig you're looking at upwards of $1000 with Zacuto and Red Rock Micro. Granted those are great products that are...

Posted by admin in Rhino Blog on Dec 14, 2011.
Wow, the last 30 days have been pretty crazy. Again, I'm so grateful for all of your support with this project. I'll be sending out a survey tomorrow that will ask for you address, color preference, and if you ordered the Glif and/or MiniSteady Counterweight.
Because we had some many backers we'll be able to incorporate some additional features in the EZ-Steady that weren't expected. These include:
- Captive stainless steel mounting screw (so you won't lose it)
- 1/4-20 thread on the bottom of the handle
- Micro adjustable weight on stage
- Adjustable tilt wheel
- Lighter overall weight
I'll post...
iPhone and GoPro Hero2 Mount
Posted by admin in Rhino Blog on Nov 23, 2011.
Ok guys, you asked for it so I made it. A way to mount your iPhone 4 to the EZ-Steady.
We developed what we call the Mini Steady Counterweight. It allows you to use lighter cameras like your iPhone, GoPro or Flip with our system. If you'd like to add this to your order pledge $30 more and if you'd like to get the Glif iPhone 4 tripod mount add an additional $20. Free shipping on these extra goodies.
We're funded on Kickstarter!

We just got our hands on a 5D Mark II and we'll be filming a short video for you guys this afternoon. So, be looking for another update on Kickstarter tomorrow with some more exciting footage.
Testing New Front Facing Mount at Mt. Rainier
Posted by admin in Rhino Blog on Sep 19, 2011.
Last week our team went up to Mt. Rainier to test a new concept we had. We wanted to be able to get a front facing view like we get with our helmet mounts but without using a helmet. Pretty tricky huh? So we started prototyping different waist belts with Pro-Poles attached everywhere but it just didn't seem very feasible.
That's when the light bulb turned on. We aren't trying to reinvent the wheel here at RCG, we just want to make more uses for the wheel. So we grabbed our GoPro Chesty harness and stuff our Goose Neck on it. Bingo! That's right we just used the word 'bingo' in 2011. Anyway, It worked great.
Granted, the...
